Thanks for visiting my web site. For years, I've been known around the pool as the "Dad with the big camera." I enjoy getting "the shot" that captures the moment. In naming my website, a good friend suggested the that I should have a slogan along the lines of "Camera Dad, I capture the moment while you cherish it" (or words to that effect).
In addition to swim meets, I shoot other events upon request.
When you order a photo, the order is sent to me for approval. What I do is pull the photo into Photoshop and individually adjust exposure, brightness, contrast, sharpen, and crop each photo for the best presentation. If a photo looks over or under exposed in the gallery, the delivered photo should be spot on. Upon special request, I can perform Photoshop magic remove unwanted objects from the background.
As a father of three myself, I am concerned about privacy on the Internet. If you see any photos of your child you would like removed, just send me a request specifying the gallery and image number. One option to removing the photo is to password protect the photo. Provide me a password of your choosing and only you and those you provide the password to will be able to view and/or order the photo.
I use Canon equipment including a Canon 5D and Canon 40D, both equipped with an additional grip and extra battery. I prefer the 40D for sporting events. It has a maximum frame rate of 6.3 frames per second I can get a burst of photos capturing just that right expression and toss the frame with the arm in front of the face. My favorite sport lenses are the Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L USM lens and Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM lens, When the action is close or the light is dwindling, the 70-200 is perfect. When the action is further away, the 100-400 is perfect. On the 40D with it's 1.6 crop factor, the 100-400 lens turns into a 160-640 lens. Add to that the high resolution images and crop capabilities in Photoshop and I can reach across eight lanes of water and make it look like I'm in lane seven.
